BREAKING: PS5 PRO RUNS PATH TRACING — A FIRST FOR CONSOLES
At GDC, EA & Codemasters showcased F1 25 running Full Path Tracing on PS5 Pro — the 1st time this tech has been demonstrated on a home console .
Technical specs:
🎮 1080p / 30 FPS native rendering
🔄 Upscaled to 4K using PSSR technology
How it worked:
Standard path tracing runs at ~20 FPS on PS5 Pro. EA used proprietary “SEED ORCA” optimization tech to hit 30 FPS with PSSR upscaling
Important note:
This was a tech demo — no confirmation whether it will ship as a feature update for F1 25 .
Still, a huge milestone for console graphics.
