Details:
▪️Running at 1080p 60FPS (higher than current Xbox backward compatibility versions at 720p)
▪️Digital only — no physical versions
▪️No graphical updates, no 120FPS support, no FOV slider
▪️Black Ops 2 includes all post-launch camos and Extra Classes MTX for free
▪️$40 each game (PS Plus members get $20 for a limited time)
▪️Season Pass: $30 ($10 for PS Plus members)
▪️Separate PS4 and PS5 versions — no cross-play between them

Multiple hackers on PlayStation 4 have reportedly already unlocked all trophies for the upcoming Black Ops 1 & 2 ports — including Platinum — in under 1 minute.

PLAYSTATION INDIA STORE PLANS HIT BY DISC ANNOUNCEMENT?
PlayStation India was reportedly planning up to 100 local stores by 2028.
However, according to sources, investors and partners were allegedly not informed about the disc phase-out until the public announcement.
One reported comment from a partner:
“Why would we even work with PlayStation, let alone invest a couple of crores on a store when they won’t be selling discs?”
This has sparked concerns about the physical retail strategy in India.
CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 6 COST XBOX $300 MILLION IN REVENUE
According to Bloomberg, Xbox lost $300 million in revenue on Xbox and PC because many players chose to play via Game Pass instead of buying the game outright.
AVOWED 2 CANCELLED – OBSIDIAN NOW WORKING ON NEW FALLOUT GAME!
According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and other reports:
Obsidian has cancelled Avowed 2 (development was going well and it was on track for announcement next year)
The studio is now focusing on a new Fallout game
The project will be led by Josh Sawyer (director of Fallout: New Vegas)
This shift comes after Xbox’s recent “reset” and layoffs
A small team will continue working on Avowed 2 in hopes of reviving it later.
DUCKDUCKGO BROWSER NOW BLOCKS MOST YOUTUBE ADS!
DuckDuckGo has announced that its browser now blocks the majority of YouTube ads.
The team said they were “tired of ads interrupting” their videos.
JASON SCHREIER: SONY’S REAL REASON FOR ENDING PHYSICAL DISCS
According to new information shared by Jason Schreier:
Sony believes its digital player base is already large enough to move forward without physical buyers.
Stores will still sell boxes, but they will only contain download codes
Sony currently gives retailers ~30% of the sale price ($70 game)
With 100% digital, Sony keeps all the revenue → significantly higher profit margins
Sony is convinced most players will eventually accept a fully digital ecosystem and that the brand loyalty is strong enough that they don’t need to communicate much about the decision.

LONG-TIME XBOX VP KEVIN LACHAPELLE LAID OFF AFTER 37 YEARS AT MICROSOFT
Kevin LaChapelle, who led the team that built the iconic Xbox Backward Compatibility program, has been laid off.
He worked at Microsoft for 37 years.
SONY CEO HIROKI TOTOKI SELLS 225,000 SHARES DAYS AFTER DISC ANNOUNCEMENT! 📉
Just days after PlayStation announced the end of physical discs for all new games starting in 2028, Sony President and CEO Hiroki Totoki sold 225,000 shares.
According to a recent SEC filing, the sale on July 3 was worth an estimated $4.73 million and represented 56.5% of his holdings in that class of Sony stock.
The timing has sparked discussion given the backlash over the all-digital shift.

SONY PSN ACCOUNTS CAN BE PERMANENTLY CLOSED AFTER 36 MONTHS OF INACTIVITY! ⚠️
According to Section 21 of Sony’s updated Terms of Service:
If your PSN account remains inactive for 36 months, the closure process may begin.
You’ll receive an email notification and have 6 months to log in or request that it be kept open.
If you do nothing, the account will be permanently closed, and you’ll lose access to all your digital games, DLCs, and purchased content.

Microsoft has officially confirmed the layoff of approximately 1,600 employees today as part of a company-wide reorganization.

Xbox is developing a new system that would let players with physical disc copies redeem a digital version of the game.

Battlefield has updated the XP token system so they now only countdown during actual gameplay, not real-world time.
