PlayStation Plus is back with a fresh batch of games for PS subscribers for October 2025. Subscribers eagerly await the addition of new games every month. PS Plus offers free monthly games, online multiplayer, and a huge catalog of titles through the Essential, Extra & Premium tiers, alongside some notable departures.
October 2025 is no exception, bringing some awesome additions to the lineup. This month continues to deliver a diverse lineup for PS Plus subscribers across all tiers, including Essential, Extra, and Premium. With Halloween around the corner, Sony seems to have leaned into horror themes this month. We’re talking survival horror masterpieces, wild sandbox adventures, and a fresh batch of catalog gems that feel tailor-made for fall vibes.
A few fan favorites are packing their bags and leaving PS Plus this month, so if you’ve been slacking on your backlog, now’s the time to accomplish it. In this article, we’ll look deep into the list of new games joining PS Plus this month and the ones waving goodbye.
PS Plus Tiers & Catalog Rotation
There are typically three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium
Essential gives you the monthly free games, online multiplayer, and discounts.
Extra adds a game catalog (many PS4/PS5 titles you can download anytime).
Premium adds classic games, streaming, trials, etc.
Catalog Rotation: Titles in the Extra/Premium game catalog aren’t permanent. Sony rotates them — some months they add new games, and some games are removed (“leaving”). Once a game is removed, PS Plus members lose access (unless they had purchased it separately).
Claim Window: For “monthly free” games under the Essential tier, you usually have until the first Tuesday of the next month to claim them and add them to your library. After that, new titles come in, and some departures take effect.
New Games on PS Plus October 2025
Essential Tier
Alan Wake 2
Developer Name – Remedy Entertainment
Platforms – PlayStation 5
Added On – October 7, 2025
Genre – Psychological Horror / Action-Adventure
Alan Wake 2 pulls you into this foggy Pacific Northwest nightmare where every flickering page from Alan’s typewriter twists reality into a cult-fueled horror show that crawls under your skin. I fired it up alone on a stormy night, flashlight shaking in my grip as Saga pieced together echoes of my own bad dreams, turning a quiet cabin into a heart-pounding dash from shadow beasts—had me jumping at my own hallway creaks. It’s that gripping mix of light-beam shootouts and surreal musical numbers that left me scribbling theories on napkins, like starring in my personal Twin Peaks episode till the sun came up.

Cocoon is one of those games that quietly draws you in with its calm yet mysterious world. It doesn’t tell you much — instead, it lets you discover everything through curiosity and clever puzzles. Jumping between worlds inside glowing orbs feels magical and strangely peaceful. Every new layer makes you stop and think, not just about solving puzzles, but about how beautifully simple game design can be.
Goat Simulator 3
Developer Name – Coffee Stain Studios
Platforms – PS5, PS4
Added On – October 7, 2025
Genre – Open-World / Sandbox / Comedy
Goat Simulator 3 lets you loose in this sprawling San Angora playground as Pilgor and her goat crew, where licking lampposts to fling yourself across rooftops or headbutting cops into fountains turns every street into your personal demolition derby. I loaded it up with my roommate on a lazy Friday, and we lost hours tag-teaming a talent show gone wrong—me as the jetpack goat bombing the stage while she ragdolled through the crowd, our screams turning into gut-busting laughs that echoed till the neighbors banged on the wall. It’s that glorious mess of co-op absurdity where plans to “just check one quest” spiral into building a goat tower to the moon, leaving you with sore sides and a fridge raid at 2 a.m., wondering why every game can’t be this unhinged.

Until Dawn is like starring in your own teen horror movie where every choice matters. The tension is constant, and it feels personal because your decisions can save or doom characters in seconds. Creepy cabins, dark forests, and sudden scares make it a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat experience every time.
V Rising

V Rising wakes you up as this weakened bloodsucker clawing back power in a gothic wilderness that’s equal parts lush forest and lurking death trap, where sunlight’s your worst enemy and every raid on a human camp feels like a high-stakes gamble for glory. I dove in with a buddy one foggy evening, skulking through moonlit ruins to ambush villagers for their warm crimson snacks, only to bolt back to our rickety castle as dawn crept in—had us yelling and laughing in equal measure when a botched stealth run turned into a frantic bat-escape swarm. It’s that addictive grind of fortifying your lair with stolen iron and thrall servants, blending cozy building sessions with brutal boss hunts that left me peeking at the window blinds, half-expecting fangs in the shadows long after I logged off.

As Dusk Falls
Developer Name – Interior/Night

Genre – Interactive Drama / Narrative Adventure
As Dusk Falls unravels this tense Desert Thunder motel standoff where a botched robbery traps two families in a web of lies and loaded guns, forcing you to nudge fates with every shaky decision under flickering fluorescent lights. I settled in one humid evening with a cold drink, tracing the Walkers’ desperate escape from a lifetime of bad breaks while the Holts’ simmering rage boiled over in split-screen choices that had me agonizing over whether to bluff the cops or bolt for the hills—left my stomach knotted, replaying that rain-lashed car chase three times just to tweak one line that might’ve spared a kid the fallout. It’s that raw pull of watching lives splinter across decades like a cracked family portrait, blending quiet motel heart-to-hearts with pulse-racing standoffs that made me hug my own folks a little tighter when the credits hit, wondering how close we all skate to our own dusty crossroads.
Wizard with a Gun
Developer Name – Galvanic Games

Added On – October 21, 2025
Genre – Action / Sandbox / Survival
Wizard with a Gun tosses you into this enchanted wilds as a spell-slinging gunslinger, scavenging herbs and shards to whip up bullets that freeze foes solid or set forests ablaze, all while dodging beast swarms that turn your tower base into a frantic fortification frenzy. I jumped in solo one crisp fall afternoon, mixing fire rounds that ricocheted off rocks like drunk fireflies until I accidentally torched my own workbench—cue a mad scramble to stamp out flames while a pack of snarling wolves circled, leaving me cackling at the sheer idiocy of it all. It’s that wild co-op spark where roping in a pal means double the chaos, like tag-teaming a dragon boss with lightning chains that zap everything, including your buddy’s hat, turning a quick resource run into an all-night tower-rebuild party that had us plotting our next explosive mishap over cold beers.
